In today’s world, it is easier than ever to be constantly online, yet harder than ever to truly be together. Children and adults spend more time in front of screens, less time in nature, less time moving, and less time genuinely connecting with one another. That is exactly why Káva a Pstruh Civic Association was created—as a place that brings people back to what matters. To nature. To skills. To resilience. To simplicity. To real life.
Our civic association works with children, young people, and the wider community through activities that have real meaning. We believe a child does not need another screen, another app, or another outside stimulus. A child needs to experience the wind, fire, the forest, the chill of morning, the scent of wood, silence by the water, the joy of accomplishing something with their own hands, and the confidence of knowing they can manage. Children need to discover their own strength, patience, courage, and ability to work with others.
That is why we focus on areas that are once again gaining real value— outdoor survival, the fundamentals of living safely in nature, crafts, residential programs, camps, practical skills, and digital minimalism. We want to show children and adults that life does not have to be filled with technology to be rich. Quite the opposite—sometimes less helps us feel more.
We teach that survival is not only about extreme situations. It is also a mindset: the ability to stay calm, think clearly, help yourself, be prepared, and take responsibility for yourself and others. We guide children to become capable rather than helpless, to face discomfort and learn to grow through it, and to understand the value of water, fire, shelter, food, skilled hands, and mutual support.
We also place great emphasis on crafts and traditional skills, because we believe that human hands have remarkable power. When children create, repair, build, or learn something through their own effort, they develop healthy self-confidence. They discover that worthwhile things do not appear with a click; they take time, effort, and patience. That is one of the lessons our age needs more than ever.
Digital minimalism does not mean rejecting technology. It means consciously seeking balance. It is a reminder that a phone should never replace real life, and that childhood should happen mostly outdoors—in motion, adventure, discovery, dirt on hands, laughter around a fire, and stories that are never forgotten. We want to create a place where children and adults can step away from the constant noise of the digital world and hear what truly matters again.
We organize and support camps, residential programs, workshops, community gatherings, and hands-on activities, that foster a deeper relationship with nature, ourselves, and one another. It is not just about the program. It is about an experience that changes a person: the moment a child realizes they can build a fire, the moment a young person understands that the silence of the forest offers more than hours spent online, or the experience of a group helping one another and discovering the power of cooperation.
Káva a Pstruh Civic Association is about returning to the simplicity that restores us, to the nature that teaches us, and to values that cannot be bought but can be lived. We want to help raise a generation that is not merely comfortable, but resilient—a generation able not only to use technology, but also to understand the world without it; a generation connected to nature, respectful of work, able to survive and help others, and capable of remaining humane even in difficult conditions.
We believe that real growth begins not in comfort, but in experience—in the rain, in silence, by the fire, through shared work, and in overcoming our own limits. That is where character is formed, respect takes root, and courage grows. Somewhere there, among the forest, craftsmanship, a child’s curiosity, and the aroma of coffee by a morning fire, lies the meaning of what we do.

Life in the Forest
When: July 2026
Where: Veľká Fatra
A residential children’s camp in Veľká Fatra
During this residential camp in Veľká Fatra, children will discover the beauty of the forest and the natural world. They will learn to identify trees, plants, and animal tracks, as well as the basic rules of staying safe outdoors. The program will also include a supervised fire-building demonstration, stories around the campfire, team games, hiking, and shared experiences in the mountains. Our goal is to foster a love of nature, independence, responsibility, and cooperation.
Digital Detox in Nature
When: July 4, 11, 18, and 25, 2026
Where: Dobrá Voda, Smolenice, Čachtice, and Stará Lehota
A one-day workshop focused on minimalism and disconnecting from technology in the beautiful setting of the forest.
